Last week, our Year 3 class took their maths learning outdoors during an exciting Forest School session on the field.

The children had the opportunity to use their maths learning practically, applying their knowledge of measuring in centimetres and millimetres by taking part in a measuring scavenger hunt and estimation competition. They explored the field to find different objects that fit a range of criteria, estimating their lengths and measuring them using rulers to see if their estimations were accurate.

It was fabulous to see the children working collaboratively and thinking carefully about which measurements to use and how to ensure their answers were accurate. They showed great enthusiasm and applied their learning brilliantly.
