It’s been a busy one in Gardening Club this week, with so much achieved!
We’ve been planting a variety of seeds, as well as adding a beautiful nectarine tree to our garden, something we’re very excited to watch grow.
We also potted up 30 bare root strawberries, ready for planting on when the bed is ready.
The young gardeners have worked incredibly hard, and their effort has really paid off. Our first bay of compost was ready, and we’ve now bagged it up – an amazing 19 bags of nutrient-rich compost, with another bay still to empty! The children were amazed to see how our fruit and vegetable snack waste collected across the school, along with our garden waste, has transformed into rich, nutrient-filled compost, teeming with worms. This will now be used in our raised beds to nourish and support the plants we grow.
We also put our brilliant compost tumbler to good use, sieving compost ready for a BIG new project… watch this space!
A fantastic session full of teamwork, effort, and real progress – we’re so proud of everything that’s been achieved.
