After a good sleep, children woke up bright and early ready for the most exciting activity yet. LASER TAG!!
Children had been talking about this activity for months leading up to the trip and some children had even started talking about tactics! First though, children had to pack all their bags back up, strip their beds and come down for breakfast. Knowing they would need lots of energy, the staff at Coldwell very kindly put on a delicious spread of fruit, cereals and sausage sandwiches.
We had a little bit of free time before the fun (aka chaos) ensued. Children were given their equipment and split into 2 teams- the green and the blacks. Miss Gallagher, Mrs Roach and Miss Rebanks got suited up too and we all headed to the safety briefing and learnt about the different games we would be playing.
We headed up to the forest with our teams and began to strategise. The first few games everyone had 5 lives but could respawn at the Med-Box in each team's camp. We swapped ends of the forest each game to keep it fair and the instructors recorded our scores. Children's competitive side really came out here and they began hiding in the undergrowth and sneakily stealthily up on the ''enemy.'' We also played a 20 lives and then you're out round before the final round where it was every man (or woman) for themselves!
It was such a pleasure to see the children having so much fun, laughing and really enjoying themselves. Everyone truly threw themselves into it and really had a go! After several hours in the forest, children came back to Coldwell for a well deserved lunch, a few more problem solving team games and free time before being picked up and going home.
Thank you so much to all the staff who came to support, the children for being incredible, parents for being supportive and helping get them ready for the trip and the staff at Coldwell. Memories to last a life time!
