After being crowned national winners of the ‘Kids on the Plot’ category in GARDENA’s Top of the Plots competition, our Gardening Club children had one very clear request… a party in the garden! Last week, we celebrated in style!

With a potato and spoon race, welly wanging, ‘Weeds and Seeds’ and garden riddles, there was plenty of laughter and friendly competition as we swapped our gardening jobs for some garden-themed party fun!

No party would be complete without something delicious to eat! We enjoyed homemade peach ice cream and sorbet, made using our very own school-grown 'Ice peaches'. These were harvested, puréed and frozen back in August, ready to turn into these delicious treats, served with jelly and a shortcake biscuit.

What a lovely way to celebrate the enthusiasm, teamwork, and hard work our gardeners put into the garden throughout the year. Sharing food grown right here made our celebration all the sweeter!

Can you solve one of our garden party riddles?

I spend my life beneath your feet,
Yet wear a jacket you can eat.
My eyes are many, but none can see,
And each can grow a new version of me.
What am I?
