People Who Help Us: Firefighters

This week, our learning has focused on firefighters as part of our People Who Help Us topic. The children have really enjoyed finding out about the important job firefighters do and how they help to keep us safe.

We talked about what firefighters wear and why their equipment is so important. Through role play, small world play and creative activities, the children pretended to be firefighters, responding to emergencies and working together to put out fires.

We finished the week with a very exciting firefighter PE training session. The children took part in obstacle courses, climbing, crawling and balancing, just like firefighters in training. It was a great way to build strength, coordination and teamwork while having lots of fun.

The children were enthusiastic throughout the week and loved learning all about firefighters and how they help us in our community.
