Today, Year 3 stepped into the role of detectives in an English lesson inspired by our Book Week text Shona, Word Detective. 

The class discovered that six exciting words had mysteriously escaped from our book and it was up to the children to conduct a 'Word Investigation' to track them down and discover their meaning. 

The children had to put their detective hats on and search for clues hidden around the classroom. They examined the evidence carefully, recorded the evidence in their detective files and worked collaboratively to make predictions about what each word might mean. 

Once their investigations were complete, the class took part in a dramatic 'suspect line-up' where each word was revealed and matched with their correct definition. The children were thrilled to discover that many of their predictions were correct, highlighting their excellent detective work! Well done detectives!
