Today, Year 4 enjoyed their annual reward trip to Ball Grove Park to celebrate their incredible effort with reading this year.
The children were challenged to read 5 million words as a class, but they absolutely smashed their target by reading over 7 million words! We are so proud of their hard work, determination and enthusiasm for reading. They definitely earned their reward!
While at the park, Year 4 were also invited to meet Dennis to the Rescue, an educational campaign that uses a specially converted bin wagon to teach children about litter, recycling and looking after the environment. The children had a brilliant time exploring the back of the wagon, joining in with a litter pick and even sitting in the cab. There was lots of excitement when they received their certificates too!
One Year 5 child and two Year 6 children were also lucky enough to join us for the visit, making it an extra special afternoon.
A huge well done to Year 4 for such a fantastic reading achievement. What a brilliant way to celebrate!
