Our children have been busy caring for wildlife in our school garden - and we have some lovely news to share!
We are delighted to have achieved Gold in the RSPB Wild Challenge.
The RSPB Wild Challenge encourages children to get outside, experience nature and take practical action to help wildlife. To reach Gold, our young gardeners have completed a whole range of activities exploring and caring for the natural world around them, discovering wildlife, creating habitats and finding ways to make our school grounds a better place for nature.
From minibeasts and birds to hedgehogs, plants and the many creatures that make their homes in our garden, our children have spent countless hours observing, learning, creating and caring. It’s wonderful to see their curiosity turning into real action for wildlife.
And alongside our RSPB Gold, we have also received the ‘School for Nature Award’.
This special recognition celebrates schools taking action to protect and restore nature, and our certificate is signed by Sir David Attenborough.
Both of these recognitions mean so much because they reflect something we see every day in our school garden, children developing a genuine love for the natural world and learning that they can make a difference to the wildlife around them.
A huge well done to all our young gardeners for everything they have done to make our school grounds a little wilder, greener and more welcoming for nature.
