Year 5 really enjoyed their first Forest School session of the term this week. Our focus is on orienteering. Children described this as being almost like a treasure hunt.

So for their first session, children became the treasure. They worked in small groups where one child hid, one child was the seeker and the other child became the director/compass. Our focus was on direction related words such as left, right, forwards, backwards, towards, away from.

It was great fun! Even if the grass was a little bit soggy. Next week, we are hoping to continue to hone our orienteering skills and find yet more ''hidden treasure''.
