Growing, Preparing & Sharing Together
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our EYFS Growing & Sharing Lunch. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
The children were incredibly excited to prepare the salad they had grown themselves. They carefully cut the lettuce leaves, washed them ready for serving and had great fun using the salad spinner to dry them – that was definitely a favourite activity! As the lettuce was being cut, Mia proudly announced, “We’re giving it a haircut!” which certainly made us all smile.
The children also did a fantastic job using their chopping skills to prepare the cucumbers and peppers to add to the salad.
The salad was enjoyed alongside lunch, and it was lovely to have flowers from the school garden displayed on the table, adding a special touch to the occasion.
What a wonderful way to celebrate the children’s patience, care and enthusiasm while experiencing first-hand the journey from seed to plate. We are incredibly proud of them all and thank you for sharing this special lunch with us.
