What a busy Gardening Club session we’ve had! With so much summer produce now ready to pick, the children rolled up their sleeves and enjoyed harvesting an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables from the school garden.

Once again, we unearthed even more potatoes – it really has been a bumper crop this year!

Our harvest also included:
Green courgettes
Yellow courgettes
A magnificent pineapple courgette                                                                             Patty pan squashes
Sweet cherry tomatoes
Crisp cucumbers
Yellow peppers
Peas.                                                                                                                        More broad beans
Beautiful purple podded peas.                                                                            Marrows

Of course, we couldn't resist sampling some of our harvest! After giving our cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and yellow peppers a quick wash, the children enjoyed tasting them fresh from the garden. They all agreed they were absolutely delicious – it doesn’t get much fresher than going straight from the plant to the plate!
